THE CHALLENGE

The Smithsonian team enlisted our help to create custom medals to celebrate the National Portrait Gallery. They envisioned a simple yet powerful design to reflect the prestige of the program and collection.

THE SOLUTION

We knew less was more, so we made sure to create something that didn’t include too many details. To realize an elegant design, we began by forging medallions from solid pieces of aluminum and brass. Then, we engraved personalization and branding into the pieces and polished them for a brilliant shine. Last, we added a ribbon for functionality.
