Join our Production Team as the next Shipping + Receiving Specialist! We are looking for a hard-working and extremely detail-oriented candidate who possess experience in shipping/receiving/collation/fulfillment. The primary purpose of this position is to find the right candidate who will be directly in charge of all domestic and international shipping for our organization. The secondary purpose would be to offload the responsibilities of drop-shipping and fulfillment of various programs that run throughout the year. This position requires a very detail oriented and organized individual who carries extensive experience working with FedEx and UPS. Experience shipping internationally is a must. This is a fast-paced position which also requires thorough multitasking and considerable attention to detail.

Basic Requirements

  • Collaborate well with production, procurement, sales and accounting team.

  • Experience using FedEx, UPS, and USPS shipping software is a must.
  • Extensive experience working with LTL companies – domestic and international. 

Specific Position Requirements:

  • Prepare product for shipping (stage product/packing slips/labels/bills of lading/etc.)
  • Ensure all manifests, invoices, orders, shipping documentation, and forms are accurate.
  • Record shipping data such as damages, rejected shipments, discrepancies for reporting, accounting, and recordkeeping purposes.
  • Determine shipping methods and procedures for safe shipment based on the material using shipping knowledge procedures.
  • Determine the most efficient and cost-effective shipping methods and making sure that by all costs no customers delivery date is ever missed.
  • Communicate with supervisors, peers, and subordinates to ensure all issues are handled properly.
  • Receive incoming product, match them to purchase order quantities and descriptions.
  • Store, maintain, order, and monitor shipping materials and supplies used for shipping.
  • Responsible for managing inventory of client insertions and any type of letterheads or envelopes that may be associated with the program.
  • Quality control of all incoming product and referencing them against approved production files.
  • Maintain accurate item locations in system for all product in warehouse.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment inside and outside of the facility.
  • Proficiency working between Microsoft Excel, CSV, and tab delimited text files.
  • Able to perform basic formulas within Microsoft Excel.
  • Professionally communicate between the customer and carriers in times of confusion. Confident conflict resolution and problem solving skills are a must.
  • English speaking, reading and writing skills and comprehension – This is needed to ensure proper shipping, receiving and computer programs are used to insure proper and legal documentation and processes are followed. This will include the need to be able to understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents and programs. It includes conveying information to the needed parties and writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Must be flexible: Able to work other shifts, overtime and Saturdays when needed.

This is a full-time position at our Elk Grove Village facility.

Required Education & Experience

Associates degree preferred, but not required. Minimum five (3-5) years of related shipping/receiving/collation/fulfillment related experience.

Qualifications and Physical/Mental Requirements:

The Shipping & Receiving Specialist should be versed and have experience in shipping/receiving/collation/fulfillment. Experience in the promotions-related industry experience is a major plus, but not necessary. Experience working with fragile products is preferred. The ideal candidate should resemble high levels of emotional intelligence, and can read, interpret, manage and address the shipping/receiving/collation/fulfillment needs of a rapidly growing business.
