The Pre-Production Technician is someone who bridges the gap between Art Department and Production Department. This person is meticulous, thorough in proofing, and has a keen eye for accuracy. Precision when reviewing production files for correct artwork, quantity, spelling and other common errors is of the utmost importance, as the Pre-Production Technician will be the last to see the artwork before it goes into production. It is the responsibility of the Pre-Production Technician to ensure all production ready files are set up properly for each decoration method and machinery, thus laying the foundation for a successful production run. It will also be this person’s duty to make corrections and/or updates to the files as needed and upload them to the servers for reference with future orders. 

Qualifications and Physical/Mental Requirements: 

The Pre-Production Technician will need to be able to carefully review fine details in production files for accuracy and edit as needed.  This person must showcase stamina, teamwork, time management, good communication and interpersonal abilities. Knowledge of printing production is a must. Knowledge of laser engraving and/or sand etching is preferred, but not necessary. Please No Recruiters. Qualified Candidates Only.  

Specific Position Requirements: 

  • Minimum of two (2) years of print production experience. 
  • Must demonstrate outstanding attention to detail. 
  • The ability to work directly with Creative Director and Production Manager. 
  • Strong understanding of Adobe Creative Cloud software (Illustrator, Photoshop & InDesign). 
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Office software. 
  • Knowledge of laser engraving and/or sand etching is preferred, but not necessary. 
  • Regularly communicate with designers and production team in person and remotely.

Basic Requirements 

  • Well organized with excellent communication skills.  
  • Must be very comfortable using a computer. 
  • PC proficient with focus on Microsoft Office  
  • Solid command of the English language: Both written and verbal. 
  • Strong multi-tasking and organization skills. Advanced time management and analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivated, self-starter, sense of urgency, well organized and very personable.   
  • Flexible, friendly and engaging. Must be able to communicate in an encouraging and stimulating manner, on a frequent basis with upper management, individuals, groups, and subordinates.  
  • Capable of working in a team environment. 
  • Perform additional duties assigned by the Production Manager / Creative Director 


Daily tasks include: Review production-ready files for accuracy in content & set up for various decoration methods/machinery (including but not limited to: digital printing, laser engraving/cutting, sand etching, and sublimation). Under direction of the Production Manager, adjust production files as necessary and upload corrected files to the Art Department server for future orders. Regularly communicate with designers and production team in person and remotely.
